Terms of Service

What the service is

Nota reads photos of invoices, matches their lines to a restaurant’s catalogue, and posts the delivery into its accounting system. It is for businesses and their staff, not for personal use.

The account

One account belongs to one restaurant. You are responsible for who you give the account’s email and password to, and for what is done under it.

We may close access where the service is misused: documents that are not yours, attempts to reach another organization’s data, or load that breaks the service for others.

Your data is yours

Invoices, catalogue, price history and accounting credentials belong to the restaurant. We process them to do the thing you came for, within the privacy policy.

What the machine does, and what you do

Reading and matching are done by models, and models are wrong sometimes. Before a document goes into your accounting system you see every line and can correct it; nothing is sent except by your action.

Responsibility for what reaches the accounting system, and for decisions made on those numbers, stays with the restaurant. We do not keep your books and we do not give accounting or tax advice.

Payment

The service is paid; terms and limits are agreed with each restaurant separately. Nothing is sold or bought inside the iPhone app.

Availability

We work to keep the service up, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation: there are updates, outages at the recognition providers, and accounting systems that go offline. Material changes are announced in advance.

Ending it

You can leave at any time: delete the account in the app and ask us to erase the restaurant’s data. We may stop serving an account with advance notice and time to take the data out.

Liability

The service is provided as is. We are not liable for lost profit or indirect damages, and our liability is limited to what was paid for the service in the three months before the event.
